PVT Stanley P. Gembala

PVT Stanley P. Gembala was born in 1915 in Buffalo, New York to Anthony and Agnes (Woloszynek) Gembala.  Both of his parents were Polish immigrants.  His father worked in a radiator factory and a foundry. 

When drafted in February 1943 Stanley was working in some sort of manufacturing. Stanley was trained as a rifleman and sent to England where he was assigned to A Company 116th Infantry.  He was killed in action on 6 Jun 1944 as the unit attempted the amphibious assault at Omaha Beach in boat team #6. 

PVT Gembala is buried in the Normandy American Cemetery.
