Tech5 Robert H Bergmann
Tech5 Robert H Bergmann was born 4 Sep 1919 in Canarsie, New York to Harry Arthur and Amelia Emma (Delancey) Bergmann. He had one brother. His father was a native of Russia and worked as a motorman and carpenter. Harry Bergmann was also a veteran of the US Army having served as a SGT during WWI at the School for Bakers and Cooks, Fort Dix, New Jersey.
After Robert was enlisted he was eventually assigned to A Company 116th Infantry before D-Day. He was killed on 6 Jun 1944.
Tech5 Bergmann is buried in Long Island National Cemetery in East Farmingdale, New York as are his parents.
Robert's brother, Arthur Edward Bergmann served as a gunner on a B-24 Liberator during the war, survived, married and had 2 daughters. He is buried in the National Cemetery of Arizona.
