PVT Harold Maurice Richardson was born 11 Nov 1909 in Bevier, Missouri. He was the youngest of the 6 children born to James Franklin and Francis Olive (Tate) Richardson. His father worked as a coal miner to support the family. Harold married Francis Marian Bass on 9 Oct 1926 and the couple would have 3 children but were divorced by 1937 when Harold married again, this time to Ellen V. Pridemore. They would have 2 sons but the first died soon after birth in 1939. Harold supported his family by working for the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Rail Road.
Harold was drafted in March 1944 and following his basic military training was sent to the European theater. He was transferred from the replacement depot to C Company 116th Infantry on 28 Oct 1944. PVT Richardson was killed in action on 18 Nov 1944 near Setterich, Germany.

Netherlands American Cemetery.
