Frederick Arnold Fines, b. 11 Jun 1920 - d. 21 Nov 1944. Son of Henry
Frederick and Agnes Rebecca (Rose) Fines of Fredericksburg, Virginia. Drafted
in February 1942, he was ultimately assigned to E Company 116th
Infantry. He appears to have made the landing on D-Day, was wounded by
shrapnel in the buttock, was later sent to the hospital and dropped from
the rolls. He was returned to the unit on 21 Oct 1944 and killed a
month later. He now rests in New Hope Cemetery in Stafford County, Virginia.
