PVT William Patrick Dolan was born in 28 Mar 1922 in Jersey City, New Jersey to James Philip and Anna G. (Kerrigan) Dolan. He was the youngest of their 3 children. His father was a lawyer who had been assistant state attorney general for the state of New Jersey and an assistant U.S. attorney. James Phillip Dolan Sr. died in 1942.
William was working as a file clerk when he was drafted in May 1943. Sent overseas he was transferred from the replacement depot to B Company 116th Infantry on 10 Oct 1944. He was killed in action on 18 Nov 1944 in an attack on German forces in Setterich, Germany.
PVT Dolan is buried in the
Netherlands American Cemetery.
