CPL Walter Edward Broscious

CPL Walter Edward Broscious was born 31 Dec 1918 in Mount Carmel, Pennsylvania the first child of Frank Otto and Mary E. (Kanok) Broscious.  His father worked as a coal miner and as a house painter.  Frank was a veteran of the World War I.  Walter completed 2-years of high school and also worked at a coal mine.

Walter was drafted in February 1942. After training, Walter was sent overseas and assigned to M Company 116th Infantry.  He was with that unit on 6 Jun 1944 when he was killed in action while participating in the amphibious assault on French beaches in Normandy.

CPL Broscious is buried in the Normandy American Cemetery.
