PVT Wesley James Husted

PVT Wesley James "Wes" Husted was born 20 Mar 1925 in West Decatur, Pennsylvania. He was the youngest of the eight children born to Wesley James and Effie Blanche (Gearheart) Husted. His father worked in clay mining and the family lived in Clearfield, Pennsylvania and Wesley graduated from Phillipsburg High School in 1943.

Wesley was drafted in June 1943 and after completing his five months of basic military training he was sent to England and ultimately assigned to H Company 116th Infantry. training for the planned invasion of Nazi occupied France. He was with that unit when killed in action on 6 Jun 1944. 

PVT Husted is buried in the Normandy American Cemetery.
