PFC Lloyd Jewel Anderson

PFC Lloyd Jewel Anderson was born 6 Aug 1914 in Dexter, Missouri to John James and Hixie Elzina (Mills) Anderson.  His father worked as a watchman and in the timber/lumber industry.  After his father died in 1933, his mother supported the family as a laundress.  In 1940 Lloyd worked as a truck driver.  The family reported an income of $250 for 1939.  On 13 Jan 1940 Lloyd married Ruby Katherine Pool.  The couple had 3 sons.

In September 1943 Lloyd was drafted.  He was assigned to B Company 116th Infantry and may have been assigned to that unit on D-Day.  He was wounded on 11 Jul 1944.  He returned to the unit via the replacement depot on 4 Nov 1944.  On 15 Nov 1944 Lloyd was promoted to PFC.  PFC Anderson was killed in action on 17 Nov 1944.

PFC Anderson is buried in Netherlands American Cemetery

Ruby remarried in 1948 and had 2 children with her new husband, also a veteran of the war.
