PVT Julius Edmund Huggins was born 5 Oct 1908 in Moorefield, Arkansas to George Washington and Nona Jessiman (Lowe) Huggins. George died in 1913. His mother was working as a laundress in 1920 and the family farmed. On 12 Oct 1929, Edmund (as he was known) married Ida Pearl James. In 1930, Edmund was working as farm labor and the family lived in Greenbrier, Arkansas. a daughter was born to the couple in 1938. Edmund was working as a truck driver in 1940 with a reported 1939 income of $1200.
Edmund Huggins entered the service, perhaps as late as late 1943. On 10 Oct 1944 he was transferred from the replacement depot to B Company 116th Infantry. PVT Huggins was killed in action on 17 Nov 1944.
PVT Huggins was buried in the Netherlands American Cemetery. Pearl apparently never re-married.
