PFC Frank Obeidzinski was born 23 Apr 1922 in Cloquet, Minnesota. He and his twin sister were the 6th and 7th of 11 children born to Joseph and Helen S. (Bahen) Obeidzinski. Both parents were natives of Poland. His father apparently worked for Northwest Paper Company for several decades. Frank didn't manage to get more than a grammar school education before entering the workforce.

Frank was drafted in December 1942. After basic combat training he was sent to England and assigned to M Company 116th Infantry. He trained with the unit as ammunition handler for the amphibious landing that would be part of the invasion of occupied France on 6 Jun 1944 in which he took part. PVT Obeidzinski was wounded in the wrist by shrapnel on 12 Jun 1944 but remained on duty. On 9 Jul 1944 he was promoted to PFC. He continued to serve with the unit until killed in action on 4 Aug 1944.

PFC Obeidzinski was buried in the Brittany American Cemetery.
