PVT Elmer C. Levo

PVT Elmer C. Levo was born in 1907 in Collinsville, Illinois to Peter Paul and Laura (Cossono) Levo. Both parents were natives of Italy.  The family farmed and his siblings worked in various local industries. In 1940, Elmer was working at the Swift packing plant and reported a 1939 income of $1250.

After Elmer entered the service and completed basic training, he was sent to the European theater and transferred from the replacement depot to L Company 116th Infantry on 26 Jul 1944.  PVT Levo was killed in action on 8 Aug 1944.

PVT Levo was buried in the Brittany American Cemetery.
