SGT Forrest Edward Fulk
Forrest was a PVT in the local National Guard unit, C Company 116th Infantry. He mobilized along with the rest of his unit in February 1941. He remained with the unit, survived D-Day, and on 9 Jul 1944 was wounded by shrapnel in his right leg but remained on duty. He was promoted to SGT on 25 Jul 1944. SGT Fulk was killed in action on 7 Aug 1944 near Vire.
Returned to the U.S. for permanent burial, SGT Fulk rests forever in Arlington National Cemetery.
