CPL Lester Evard Potterfield

CPL Lester Evard Potterfield was born 4 Aug 1895, probably in Piqua, Ohio to Charles E. and Philippa H. (Benner) Potterfield. His father was a skilled iron worker and moved from Ohio to work in a foundry in Alexandria, Virginia.

After entering the service, Lester was assigned to D Company 116th Infantry.  CPL Potterfield was killed in action on 9 Oct 1918.

CPL Potterfield was returned to the U.S. and rests forever in Arlington National Cemetery.
