PVT Travis Anderson Roddy

PVT Travis Anderson Roddy was born 3 Jan 1922 in Troup, Texas. He was the 4th of 6 children and only son of Kyle Anderson and Leta Elizabeth (Darby) Roddy. His father worked as a tie maker for the local rail road as well as farming in Cherokee County, Texas along route 5 near Troup. Travis would eventually work for C. M. Cohagen.

Travis was drafted in April 1944. After basic military training he was sent to the European theater and transferred from the replacement depot to B Company 116th Infantry on 25 Oct 1944. PVT Roddy was killed in action on 17 Nov 1944 outside of Baesweiler, Germany as the unit moved against Setterich.

PVT Roddy rests forever in the Netherlands American Cemetery.
