T4 Cyrus Edison Banton
T4 Cyrus Edison Banton was born on 17 Aug 1917 in Nelson County, Virginia to Alvin Benjamin and Eva Estelle (Bryant) Banton. The family farmed near Lovingston, Virginia.
Cyrus was a PVT in a Lynchburg infantry unit of the National Guard in February 1941 when the unit was federalized. As a member of B Company 116th Infantry, he was with the unit on D-Day and survived without injury until 25 Oct 1944 when he was wounded. Evacuated to the hospital, he died of his wound(s) on 7 Nov 1944.
