T4 Alfred Albert Masciotti was born 26 Nov 1919 in Reading, Pennsylvania. He was the youngest of eight children born to Emidio and Mary (Mosca) Masciotti. His father was a factory worker.
It may be that his last name was changed when Alfred registered for the draft in 1941. At that time he was working for the Paul B. Hindel Company in Reading manufacturing hats. Alfred was drafted in December 1942. After completing training he was sent to England and assigned to K Company 116th Infantry. T4 Mascotti was killed in action on 6 Oct 1944.
T4 Mascotti was repatriated and re-interred with other family members in the Gethsemane Cemetery in Laureldale, Pennsylvania under the name "Alfred A. Masciotti".
Several of Alfred's brothers also served. Nicholas Masciotti, served in the U.S. Army Air Corps 1942-1945; John Angelo Masciotti, served in the U.S Navy aboard the USS Langley, 1943-1945. Joseph Masciotti served in the Army 1942-1946.
