PFC Eugene G. Lange

PFC Eugene G. Lange was born about 1909 in  to Eugene Arnt and Lydia Lange.  Both parents were natives of Norway. His father was a silversmith.  The senior Eugene died 17 May 1941.

After entering the service and completing his basic training, Eugene was assigned to L Company 116th Infantry and sent to England.  He trained with that unit for the amphibious assault on the French beaches in Normandy.  He took part in the landings of 6 Jun 1944 and continued to fight as the unit moved inland.  PFC Lange was killed in action on 15 Jul 1944. 

PFC Lange is buried in the Brittany American Cemetery.
