PFC Eugene Christian Lange

PFC Eugene Chrstian Lange was born 28 Oct 1908 in  to Eugene Arnt and Lydia A. (Nillsen) Lange.  Both parents were natives of Norway. His father was a silversmith.  The senior Eugene died 17 May 1941.

After entering the service and completing his basic training, Eugene was assigned to L Company 116th Infantry and sent to England.  He trained with that unit for the amphibious assault on the French beaches in Normandy.  He took part in the landings of 6 Jun 1944 and continued to fight as the unit moved inland.  PFC Lange was killed in action on 15 Jul 1944. 

PFC Lange is buried in the Brittany American Cemetery.
