PVT John Arminio was born 20 Apr 1918 in New Haven County, Connecticut to Salvatore Joseph and Carmella (Marchetta) Arminio. Both parents were Italian immigrants and Salvatore worked for many years as a tailor. John was also working as a tailor probably in his father's shop.
Drafted in August 1941, John was assigned to B Company 116th Infantry on 14 Jul 1944. PVT Arminio was wounded, evacuated and died in the hospital on 18 Jul 1944.
PVT Arminio was repatriated in 1948 and is buried in the Saint Lawrence Cemetery in West Haven, Connecticut.
