PVT Earl William Fish was born 6 Mar 1917 in Skowhegan, Maine to William Warren and Eva M. (Adams) Fish. His father worked in a woolen mill and in machinery sales. Apparently, Earl was married sometime about 1937 but his wife died about 1938.
Earl enlisted in March 1939. Sometime after the war began he was sent overseas. We can only imagine that he was a very experienced soldier by the time that on 7 Jul 1944 he was transferred from the replacement depot to D Company 116th Infantry. On 26 Jul 1944, he was transferred to C Company 116th Infantry. PVT Fish was killed in action on 1 Sep 1944.
PVT Fish is buried in the Brittany American Cemetery.
