PFC Author Jackson Deel

PFC Author Jackson "Autie" Deel, b. 9 Mar 1921 - d. 12 Jul 1944. Son of Bart Fleming and Sybil Josephine (Owens) Deel of Buchanan County, VA. The Deel family has been in that area since at least 1800. He actually enlisted as "Autie J Deel" and was ultimately assigned to B Company 116th Infantry. He was buried in the Long Island National Cemetery in East Farmingdale, NY.
