PFC Tom Dave Arnett

PFC Tom Dave Arnett born 9 Jul 1920 in Webster, Ohio to David George and Margaret C (Warner) Arnett. Tom worked as farm labor, probably on the family farm. 

Drafted in August 1942, he left behind wife Doris Fay (Ingle).  He was assigned to Headquarters Company 1st Battalion 116th Infantry.  The morning report shows him wounded on 2 Jul 1944 and dying of wounds on 5 Jul 1944.  Other records give his date of death as 2 Jul 1944.

He is buried in the Normandy American Cemetery and his wife erected the cenotaph shown here.
