PVT George Alfred Wolfe

PVT George Alfred Wolfe was born 5 Sep 1923 in Sabetha, Kansas. He was the 3rd of 9 children born to Edward and Lena Amanda (Larson) Wolfe. His father farmed and the family lived near Whiting, Horton and Shannon, Kansas. By 1942 the family had moved to Atchison, Kansas and lived at 1423 Main Street. 

George was drafted in March 1943. After completing his basic military training he was sent to the European theater. PVT Wolfe was transferred from the replacement depot to C Company 116th Infantry on 10 Jul 1944. He was killed in action on 11 Jul 1944. 

PVT Wolfe was repatriated in 1943 and re-interred in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Atchison, Kansas.
