Percy was working in a local knitted goods factory when he was drafted in November 1942. He was eventually sent to Europe and on 13 Jul 1944 was transferred from the replacement depot to E Company 116th Infantry. PFC Hart was killed in action on 15 Jul 1944.
PFC Hart is buried in the Normandy American Cemetery.
